A Letter to My Future Husband and Baby Daddy

Hi Sweetheart,
On this day when everyone is talking about their great dads, my mind moves forward to think of you. Although I had many father figures, I didn’t have a great dad. Sweetheart, thank you for being one to our child. Whenever I hear this song, I think of you. I know sometimes I will get caught up with work and may not show you in detail how much I love and appreciate you so today, I just want to take the time to thank you for the great father you are.

Thank you for being a marvelous Daddy. Thank you for being a strong support system and provider for me and our child. Thank you for all the emotions, cravings and craziness you have put up with while I was pregnant.

Thank you for feeding, bathing and tucking our child into bed when I’m tired or working late. Thank you for the many times you fell asleep with him/her on your chest from exhaustion. My heart skips a beat every time I see you like that.

Thank you for dropping and picking up him/her from school when I can’t make it. Thank you for all the tears you have kissed away and all the scrapes you have mended. Thank you for all the games you have played repeatedly to keep our child content.

Thank you for all the lessons that you will teach him/her. Thank you for being an example. Thank you for motivating him/her to be the best he/she can be. Thank you for leading our family, sweetheart. As Christ is the head of the church, so are you the head of our home. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made for our little family. I don’t know what we will be or do without you.

You are home for me. I love you my darling.

XOXO
