I’m feeling a bit sentimental today. My wingman, squadie and partner-in-crime for the past two years is moving away today… When I say moving, it’s not moving like 2 minutes away like he has been for the past 2 years but moving like almost 3 hours away :(. I feel this one to my heart and so I’ve decided to dedicate this post to our wingman-ship.
I met Javahan over two years ago after I saw him standing alone waiting for a class to begin. For some reason, I decided to talk to him. We clicked instantly and thus, THIS WINGMAN-SHIP WAS BORN.
Javahan is an awesome guy though we argue a lot and he makes teasing me an art. He is also very protective of me and my feelings. I remember one night we went out with a group of persons I used to love and respect. I was the only female in the vehicle and one of the guys kept talking about how females were only good enough to be used and cheated on. I felt uncomfortable. Jav must have sensed it because he reached over, took my hand and whispered, “not you though.”. That comment made my night.
He also listens when I speak to him and is someone I can call and ask to go places with me and he will agree in a heartbeat. I remember the first time I asked him to tag along with me to an event because I hated being the third wheel. I wasn’t expecting to have so much fun but he ended up charming both me and my friends who have requested his presence many times after.
He understands me and my moods. I remember the night my past pastor was buried. I was really upset and after crying for half an hour straight, I just needed to do something to blow off some steam. When I suggested going for a run, Jav did not hesitate. He got his gear ready and ran with me in silence until I was okay enough to begin laughing.
He is a true gentleman who always ensures that I am on the inside when we are walking. The dude even holds doors for me. He even got me into running even though I complained that he was trying to kill me.
He is truly an awesome friend and I am really really gonna miss having him close. He is leaving with a piece of my heart. He is the Ying to the Yang of my crazy side :).
I am a dynamic young lady who loves the Lord and seek to have a joy that no one can take away. My all-time favourite thing to do is gaining discoveries by design from My Father during our time each day. Reading, learning and trying new things falls behind in a close second place. My dream is to use my God-given talents to positively impact as many people as possible. As a proud Wolmerian, with a zest for life, I adhere to the “Age Quod Agis” motto in that whatsoever I do, I always do it to the best of my ability.
