Application:
One of the hardest things for me was trusting God with my finances. I’ve been a hoarder of my little egg nest. I saved hard but constantly questioned the need to give tithes and even give in general. Why? Because simply I believed that it impacted my ability to effectively maximize on what I had earned.
Things happened that caused me to change that attitude. I noticed that whenever I held on to money instead of using it as the Lord directed, I ended up with less and, sometimes, in dire straits. However, when I moved as the Lord directed and heeded the compulsion to give, God blessed me. I gave my tithes, from my little, and God sustained me above and beyond what I had imagined. I gave $1000.00 and was blessed with the remainder of school fees paid. I gave a homeless man $50.00 and was blessed 10-fold.
If God cannot depend on you to use the “little” He has given you to His glory, why would He give you more or a lot? When you place your trust in your money, you are bound to go down but place your trust in God and He will sustain you. Do you want to flourish? Follow the directions of the Lord. When God is on your side, your well can never run dry! You will flourish!
