What if the Lord had not been on our side
when people attacked us?
They would have swallowed us alive
in their burning anger.
The waters would have engulfed us;
a torrent would have overwhelmed us.
Yes, the raging waters of their fury
would have overwhelmed our very lives.

- With God on your side, you will not be overwhelmed by the storms and enemies of life.

Application:
In moments like these, I feel incredibly grateful. There has been so many instances when God was on my side. God was in my corner when I was earmarked for death at a young age. I had constant asthma attacks, fainting spells and even got hit by a fast-moving bike while I was walking. Yet, here I stand. God was in my corner when I struggled financially. God was in my corner when I struggled emotionally and mentally. He always knew the push, comfort or encouragement I needed and always provided it. God stood by me when I felt all alone. He interceded when the situations and people within my life rose up to overthrow and swamp me. Like David, I fear to think what would have happened if the Lord had not been on my side.
With God on your side you can live life bravely, knowing that He will not allow the storms or enemies of life to overwhelm you. Stop for a moment and think. If it had not been for the Lord on your side, where would you be?
