DAY 125.png

Focus Chapters:

  • 1 Chronicles 29:1-22
  • 1 Kings 1

Standout Verse(s):

1 Chronicles 29:10-11, 20 NLT

Then David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly:

“O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may you be praised forever and ever! Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.

Then David said to the whole assembly, “Give praise to the Lord your God!” And the entire assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they bowed low and knelt before the Lord and the king.

Observation (s):

  1. David praised God in public before the assembly.

  2. David’s open worship inspired others to also praise God in the open.

    Then David said to the whole assembly, “Give praise to the Lord your God!” And the entire assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they bowed low and knelt before the Lord and the king.

Application:

We love our football teams. Football season, win, lose or draw, we are committed and want the whole world to know. We adore our sports stars. We praise our favourite movies and series and invest hours into keeping track of them so that we can discuss them in detail with our friends and acquaintances. We rave about the marvellous movie stars and aspire to be like them. During political campaign season, we deck ourselves in the colours of our favourite representatives and declare, quite proudly, where our allegiance lies. Yet, the adoration and fanfare changes when the subject of God is raised.

David was a leader who loved the Lord. He was not afraid to show his adoration in public and raved about the goodness and greatness of God. And you know what? His enthusiasm transferred to the people and they too bowed down and praised God in the open.

Are you afraid to show that you are a child of God? Do you shy away from advertising and raving about God in public? God is not a shameful secret to be hidden in the dark. It’s time to transfer some of your enthusiasm about worldly things into raving about Him.

I am a dynamic young lady who loves the Lord and seek to have a joy that no one can take away. My all-time favourite thing to do is gaining discoveries by design from My Father during our time each day. Reading, learning and trying new things falls behind in a close second place. My dream is to use my God-given talents to positively impact as many people as possible. As a proud Wolmerian, with a zest for life, I adhere to the “Age Quod Agis” motto in that whatsoever I do, I always do it to the best of my ability.
