Bible in 365 Days – Day 71

DAY 71.png

Focus Chapters:

  • Deuteronomy 1-2
  • Deuteronomy 3:1-20

Standout Verse(s):

Deuteronomy 1:28-33 NLT

Where can we go? Our brothers have demoralized us with their report. They tell us, “The people of the land are taller and more powerful than we are, and their towns are large, with walls rising high into the sky! We even saw giants there—the descendants of Anak!”’

“But I said to you, ‘Don’t be shocked or afraid of them! The Lord your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt. And you saw how the Lord your God cared for you all along the way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as a father cares for his child. Now he has brought you to this place.’

“But even after all he did, you refused to trust the Lord your God,who goes before you looking for the best places to camp, guiding you with a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day.

Observation (s):

  1. The people placed their focus on what they have heard and have yet to experience.

    Where can we go? Our brothers have demoralized us with their report. They tell us, “The people of the land are taller and more powerful than we are, and their towns are large, with walls rising high into the sky! We even saw giants there—the descendants of Anak!”’

  2. Moses encouraged the people to put their trust in God because He has already proven Himself to them.

    But I said to you, ‘Don’t be shocked or afraid of them!

Application:

We trust persons who have proven themselves to us and keep them close to us. Why then do we find it so hard to trust God who has proven Himself to us over and over again? God fought for you in Egypt. God cared for you in the wilderness. God delivered on the promises He made to you and your ancestors and brought you safely to the Promised Land. He goes ahead of you looking for the best places for you to settle. He has kept a constant presence in your life, guiding you by day and night.

Don’t focus on the giants or the people who seem taller and more powerful. Don’t focus on the large towns with the high walls that reach the sky. Place your trust in God who has proven Himself capable of leading and fighting and providing for you. Our Heavenly Father has you covered!

I am a dynamic young lady who loves the Lord and seek to have a joy that no one can take away. My all-time favourite thing to do is gaining discoveries by design from My Father during our time each day. Reading, learning and trying new things falls behind in a close second place. My dream is to use my God-given talents to positively impact as many people as possible. As a proud Wolmerian, with a zest for life, I adhere to the “Age Quod Agis” motto in that whatsoever I do, I always do it to the best of my ability.
