Bible in 365 Days – Day 55

Focus Chapters:
- Leviticus 23-24
- Leviticus 25:1-23
Standout Verse(s):
Leviticus 25:18-22 NLT
“If you want to live securely in the land, follow my decrees and obey my regulations. Then the land will yield large crops, and you will eat your fill and live securely in it. But you might ask, ‘What will we eat during the seventh year, since we are not allowed to plant or harvest crops that year?’ Be assured that I will send my blessing for you in the sixth year, so the land will produce a crop large enough for three years. When you plant your fields in the eighth year, you will still be eating from the large crop of the sixth year. In fact, you will still be eating from that large crop when the new crop is harvested in the ninth year.
Observation (s):
- Our ability to adhere to God’s decrees and regulations activates His ability to protect and bless us.
“If you want to live securely in the land, follow my decrees and obey my regulations. Then the land will yield large crops, and you will eat your fill and live securely in it.
- Following God’s directions secures a blessing that covers us in our time of need and 2 seasons beyond that season of need. He makes provisions ahead of time.
Application:
Follow me for a moment. Imagine, our parents directed us to take a specific route to and from school daily. Based on the time school begins and ends, the length of the journey and any extra-curricular activities we may undertake, our parents have a pretty good estimate of what time we will arrive and depart and where we will be and therefore, can plan for us accordingly. Their plans might involve having someone meet us halfway, have someone awaiting us at the house or they themselves putting in an appearance. Now, imagine, we deviate from that route? Our parents’ original plans for our arrivals and departures are no longer applicable. In fact even if they do go as planned, our deviation from the route means that we may not be there to see it occur.
God likes to make plans for us. These plans come to physical fruition because of our fulfilment of our part of the deals He has made with us. If we keep his decrees and follow His regulations then He will protect us and bless us mightily. If we deliver on our end of the bargain then we will see God delivering on His. Even if the route He has directed us to looks barren and empty, still proceed. Like the parents above, He has already made provisions for us ahead of your barren season. In fact, His provisions will carry you through the 7th, 8th and 9th years. This covers your season of need and flows over into your seasons of planting and reaping.

I am a dynamic young lady who loves the Lord and seek to have a joy that no one can take away. My all-time favourite thing to do is gaining discoveries by design from My Father during our time each day. Reading, learning and trying new things falls behind in a close second place. My dream is to use my God-given talents to positively impact as many people as possible. As a proud Wolmerian, with a zest for life, I adhere to the “Age Quod Agis” motto in that whatsoever I do, I always do it to the best of my ability.
