I Met A Man…

For the last year or so, I’ve have spent my time and energies primarily focused on rediscovering myself and God. This journey has been amazing!

Over the period, I have encountered many males and frankly I have never felt compelled to look a second time. I have been very focused on God and me. This week, many times on my journey to work, I kept experiencing some bizarre cases with men. One man yelled his desire for marriage anytime I was ready as I walked pass him down the street. Another thought it genius to holler, “Wife material, mi want your digits!” as I passed him and his group of friends. One man even followed me from the point where he had met me to my taxi stand, declaring his desire to be mine! I was confused and annoyed! “What had changed?”, I questioned myself.

The answer came to me in the middle of my journey to work on Thursday morning. I glowed! I literally smiled because I felt good about myself! I walked with a little pep in my steps. I felt comfortable in my skin! I was truly happy! My happiness radiated and drew persons to me.

Shortly after this discovery I had an experience. Yes, a James Blunt “You’re Beautiful” experience! At least, that’s what I choose to call it. Have you ever met someone who impressed and intrigued you upon meeting them? Someone who just knew what they were about? Someone who you knew without a doubt was going places? Someone whose body language calmly declared intelligence, confidence, humility and “I know what I am about.”? Someone who lived up to the conversation outlined by his body language? Well I have and I must say, I found this person very appealing and intriguing. Something within me reacted to the difference. I must admit, I took a second and a third and a fourth and a fifth look and like James I sang from afar “You’re Beautiful”.

Folks, I met a Man and he was Beautiful!

XOXO,
Chañel.

    • Lol I love the comparison. It made me see that what I have always foreseen is not impossible. Persons generally make me seem crazy when I point out that not only male vagabonds inhabit the earth.

  1. My thoughts after reading was to reflect on your definition of beautiful.
Then I thought how is it possible to declare this man as being beautiful?
So, I thought maybe there’s more to the relationship/story and this is an intro…
But I had to throw out that theory after reading your reply!
So, being the active thinker I’m,
I concluded being the passing ship he must have skillfully glided by without an offensive spray of the Caribbean Sea to your deck, so to speak!
    Thus, you had to admire?
If this is so I guess I understand the label beautiful!😊

    I thought “I Met A Man” was a refreshing appetizer!👍🏾

    • Jean you took the words from my thoughts. Indeed I consider him a passing ship with a difference. The difference made the difference. If it had been a regular occasion, I would definitely be up to getting to know him better. Thank you for reading 😀
